Missing sisters captured on CCTV

Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, two sisters aged 32, have been reported missing from their home in Aberdeen, prompting a significant police investigation. The last confirmed sighting of the siblings was captured on CCTV footage around AM on Tuesday, January 7, as they were seen on Market Street near Victoria Bridge.

After crossing the bridge, they turned right onto a footpath that runs alongside the River Dee, heading towards the Aberdeen Boat Club. This sighting marks the last known location of the sisters, raising concerns for their safety.

Police efforts and public appeal

In response to their disappearance, local police have launched extensive searches in the area where Eliza and Henrietta were last seen. Chief Inspector Darren Bruce has stated that inquiries are ongoing, with officers being supported by specialist search advisors, police dogs, and the marine unit. The area around the Torry side of Victoria Bridge, which features numerous commercial and industrial units, is currently a focal point for search efforts. Authorities are urging local businesses, particularly those near South Esplanade and Menzies Road, to review their CCTV footage from the early hours of January 7. Any relevant information captured could be crucial to the investigation.

Community involvement crucial in the search

The police are also appealing to the public for assistance. They are asking anyone who may have dashcam footage from the vicinity during the time of the sisters’ disappearance to come forward. Chief Inspector Bruce emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “We are continuing to speak to people who know Eliza and Henrietta and we urge anyone who has seen them or who has any information regarding their whereabouts to please contact 101 quoting incident number 0735 of Tuesday, January 7.” The local community’s vigilance and cooperation could play a vital role in locating the missing sisters.
