The ongoing search for sisters Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, who disappeared five days ago, has captured the attention of both local authorities and the public. The two women, both 32 years old and originally from Hungary, were last seen on January 7, around AM, on Market Street at Victoria Bridge in Aberdeen.

Their sudden disappearance has raised significant concerns among their family and friends, who are anxiously awaiting news.

Extensive search operations underway

In response to the alarming situation, police have mobilized extensive resources to locate the missing sisters. The search has primarily focused on the River Dee, where divers were seen conducting thorough searches on Friday.

Chief Inspector Darren Bruce emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “Eliza and Henrietta’s family are understandably extremely worried about them, and we are working tirelessly to find them.”

Authorities have enlisted the help of specialized units, including a police helicopter, dog teams, and marine units, to assist in the search efforts. The police have also expanded their search area along the river towards Aberdeen’s South Harbour and upstream towards Duthie Park, indicating a comprehensive approach to the investigation.

Community involvement crucial in the investigation

As the search continues, police are urging the public to assist in the investigation. They are particularly interested in any information regarding the sisters’ whereabouts, especially from individuals who may have been in the area around the time of their disappearance. Chief Inspector Bruce has called on local businesses to review their CCTV footage from early Tuesday morning, urging them to contact the police if they have any relevant information.

“Even if it doesn’t seem significant, please pass any information on and let us be the judge of that,” Bruce added, highlighting the importance of community involvement in solving this case. The police are also keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage from that time, as every piece of information could prove vital in locating the sisters.

Family’s distress and public response

The Huszti family, currently in Hungary, has expressed their deep concern for Eliza and Henrietta. The emotional toll of the situation is evident, as they await updates from the authorities. The public response has been overwhelmingly supportive, with many individuals sharing information and expressing their hopes for the sisters’ safe return.

As the investigation unfolds, the focus remains on the River Dee, with police reiterating their commitment to finding Eliza and Henrietta. The community’s vigilance and cooperation could play a crucial role in bringing the sisters home safely.
