Nohan Kenneh’s return to Ross County: Aiming for stability and growth
Nohan Kenneh, the talented midfielder, has made a significant return to Ross County on loan from Hibernian, and he is determined to make this stint less dramatic than his previous one.
Kenneh’s first spell at the Staggies was marked by a thrilling escape from relegation, but this time, he hopes for a smoother journey.
Reflecting on past experiences
Kenneh’s previous loan at Ross County was a rollercoaster ride, culminating in a miraculous comeback against Partick Thistle that secured the club’s place in the Premiership.
“Still to this day, that’s the biggest game I have been part of,” he recalls. The midfielder vividly remembers the 3-0 deficit that turned into a 4-3 victory, a moment that solidified his bond with the club and its passionate supporters. “The fans deserve to be in the league, and the players worked so hard that season,” he added, emphasizing the collective effort that led to their survival.
A fresh start and new challenges
After a challenging period at Hibernian, where he struggled for playing time, Kenneh is eager to regain his form and contribute to Ross County’s success. “If I say I have not been frustrated, I’m lying to you,” he admits, reflecting on the difficulties of not being able to help his team. However, he remains mentally strong, supported by his family and teammates, which has kept him focused and ready for the challenges ahead.
Growth as a player
Having spent last season on loan at Shrewsbury Town, where he made 33 appearances, Kenneh believes he has returned to Ross County as a more refined player. “I know myself, and in terms of decision-making, I am better, and my game awareness is better,” he states confidently. His previous experiences have equipped him with the skills and maturity needed to excel in the Premiership. With the guidance of Staggies boss Don Cowie, who was an assistant during Kenneh’s last spell, he feels a sense of familiarity that will aid his development.
Looking ahead
As Kenneh prepares for upcoming matches, including a challenging game against Celtic, he is focused on making a positive impact. “Every game is a different one for me,” he says, emphasizing his commitment to continuous improvement. With a clear vision for his future and a desire to contribute to Ross County’s ambitions, Kenneh is ready to embrace the challenges that lie ahead.
