The Bank Cafe and Restaurant in Huntly is set to unveil an exciting new fine dining menu, a strategic move aimed at revitalizing the local dining scene and attracting more visitors to the town. Under the ownership of Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd since 2021, the restaurant is evolving its offerings to provide a more urban dining experience, reminiscent of city establishments.
Enhancing the local dining experience
Krzysztof Dudkowski, the hospitality manager at Duncan Taylor, expressed the restaurant’s commitment to serving the local community while also appealing to potential visitors. “Here in Huntly, we do not have the luxury of being in a city centre like Aberdeen, benefitting from a lot of passing trade,” he noted.
This acknowledgment of the town’s unique challenges underscores the restaurant’s goal to create a dining experience that draws people in.
By focusing on quality and variety, The Bank Cafe and Restaurant aims to position itself as a destination worth visiting. “If you come to Huntly, it’s an absolutely lovely town,” Krzysztof added, emphasizing the need for rejuvenation and increased vibrancy in the area. The introduction of a fine dining menu is seen as a catalyst for attracting foot traffic, which could benefit not only the restaurant but also other local businesses.
The restaurant’s team has actively sought feedback from local patrons to shape the new menu. “Simply asking the locals what it is they want introduced or changed helps us,” Krzysztof explained. This community-centric approach ensures that the offerings resonate with the tastes and preferences of the residents, ultimately fostering a sense of ownership and pride in the establishment.
The upcoming fine dining menu will feature classic dishes with a modern twist, such as steak frites, prepared with an emphasis on quality and flavor. “We are going to try to bring a little bit more of a city type offering,” Krzysztof stated, highlighting the restaurant’s ambition to elevate the dining experience in Huntly.
Looking ahead: A promising future for Huntly
As the restaurant prepares to launch its new menu in the coming weeks, the anticipation is palpable. Head chef Milozs Wyrwicz is set to introduce a refined dinner menu that showcases the best of Scottish ingredients, aligning with seasonal availability. “Because our chefs can definitely deliver that, and that’s exactly what Huntly and the local area needs,” Krzysztof remarked, reinforcing the restaurant’s commitment to excellence.
With a focus on fine dining, The Bank Cafe and Restaurant is poised to become a key player in Huntly’s culinary landscape. The hope is that this initiative will not only enhance the local dining experience but also stimulate economic growth in the town. “If we can do that, the footfall increases, there are more people coming to town and everyone can benefit from that,” Krzysztof concluded, envisioning a brighter future for Huntly.
