Ember, the UK's first electric coach company, announces new routes and job opportunities.

Ember, the pioneering fully electric and zero-emission coach company in the UK, is set to broaden its horizons with the introduction of new routes to Fort William and Oban. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the company, which has been operational since October 2020, providing sustainable travel options across Scotland.
New routes and job opportunities
Starting at the end of April, Ember will commence services to Fort William, with plans to launch routes to and from Oban by summer. This initiative not only enhances travel options for residents and visitors but also creates job opportunities in these picturesque locations.
Ember is actively seeking drivers in both Fort William and Oban, offering a competitive starting wage of £14.66 per hour and a guaranteed 40-hour workweek.
Commitment to sustainability
Andy Mason, head of operations at Ember, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “We’re very excited to be bringing Ember’s zero-emission travel to brand new communities and especially to beautiful places like Fort William and Oban.” The company prides itself on its fleet, which is entirely composed of new electric coaches, ensuring a quieter and cleaner travel experience without the disturbances of noisy engines or exhaust fumes.
Connecting communities
Ember plans to operate services from Fort William seven days a week, with specific route details to be announced soon. The routes will include direct connections to major cities such as Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as various communities along the way. This expansion is part of Ember’s broader vision to revolutionize public transport in Scotland, providing eco-friendly travel options that cater to the needs of modern commuters.
A spokesperson for Ember highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating, “With connections to Inverness and Oban on the horizon, the addition of Fort William marks another step in Ember’s commitment to revolutionising public transport in Scotland.” As the company continues to grow, it remains dedicated to fostering sustainable travel solutions that benefit both the environment and local communities.
