In a shocking incident last night, ten people were hospitalized after a serious car crash involving three vehicles just south of Inverness. The collision occurred on the B862 road between Inverness and Dores at Scaniport shortly after 8 PM on Wednesday, April 2.
Details of the collision
The vehicles involved in the crash included a black Toyota Prius, a grey Land Rover Discovery, and a white Audi A3. Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance teams, rushed to the scene to provide immediate assistance.
The driver of the Toyota Prius, along with four passengers, sustained both serious and minor injuries and were transported to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Audi A3 was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while four of their passengers were treated and later discharged. Fortunately, the driver of the Land Rover Discovery emerged uninjured from the incident.

The B862 road was closed for several hours as emergency services worked to clear the scene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The road was reopened around 3 AM, allowing traffic to resume. Sergeant Neil MacDonald stated, “Our inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing for witnesses. If you were in the area and have not already spoken to officers, then please get in touch.” He urged anyone driving in the vicinity around the time of the crash to check their dash-cams for any footage that might assist in the investigation.
