Tickets for the highly anticipated concert by the popular Scottish band Deacon Blue at this year’s Tall Ships Races in Aberdeen have officially sold out. Known for their chart-topping hits such as ‘Dignity’ and ‘Real Gone Kid’, Deacon Blue is set to kick off the Quayside Concerts on Friday, July 18.

This event marks a significant occasion as it will be the first time since 1997 that Tall Ships from around the world will sail into the Granite City.

Concert details and additional performances

The concert will take place at a purpose-built venue with a capacity of 7,000 at Peterson Seabase on Regent Quay.

Deacon Blue’s performance is part of a larger lineup of musical acts scheduled for the Port of Aberdeen this summer. Following Deacon Blue, the Ministry of Sound Classical will take the stage on July 19, promising an exciting blend of classical music and contemporary hits.

On July 20, the local band Tide Lines and Banchory singer Calum Bowie will perform at a free concert, which is expected to draw a large crowd. The events will culminate on Monday, July 21, with a performance by the indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs, known for their hits like “I Predict a Riot” and “Ruby”.

Ticket availability and pricing

Although tickets for Deacon Blue’s concert are sold out, fans still have a chance to see them by purchasing bundle tickets priced at £110. These tickets grant access to all three paid concerts, but only 100 of these bundles remain available. A spokesperson for the Port of Aberdeen confirmed that there are still a few tickets left for the Kaiser Chiefs performance and that the Ministry of Sound Classical concert is selling well.

The free Quayside Concert will not require tickets, but admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis, making it essential for attendees to arrive early. The Port of Aberdeen has announced that further details regarding timings and additional information will be released soon.
