In a significant development for travelers in Scotland, McGill’s Group has announced the launch of a direct bus service that will connect Aberdeen city center to Edinburgh Airport. This new service is set to commence on Monday, April 28, and aims to provide a seamless travel experience for those flying in and out of one of Scotland’s busiest airports.

Service details and schedule

The new bus service, named Fly Aberdeen, will operate eight services in each direction daily, ensuring that travelers have ample options to choose from. The journey from Littlejohn Street in Aberdeen to the airport terminal will take approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes.

The schedule has been meticulously crafted to accommodate peak travel times, including early morning and late evening flights, making it a convenient choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Expanding transport connectivity

Fly Aberdeen is an expansion of the existing Fly coach network, which has already seen success with its Dundee to Edinburgh Airport service. Stephen Riggans, area director for McGill’s Scotland North, expressed enthusiasm about the new service, stating, “Following the success of our direct Dundee to Edinburgh Airport service, we’re excited to bring that same reliability and value to Aberdeen.” This sentiment underscores the importance of dependable airport connections, which Fly Aberdeen aims to provide.

Affordable and comfortable travel options

McGill’s Group is committed to offering a fast, comfortable, and cost-effective alternative for travelers. With advance fares available for bookings made over a week in advance, and standard fares for last-minute travelers, there are options to suit various budgets. Tony Williamson, chief executive of McGill’s Group, highlighted the significance of this launch, stating, “The launch of Fly Aberdeen marks a significant milestone in our journey to strengthen transport connectivity across Scotland and beyond.” This initiative not only enhances airport accessibility but also fosters closer connections between communities and the world.

Tickets for the Fly Aberdeen service can be conveniently purchased through the Fly Coach website, making it easier than ever for travelers to plan their journeys. In addition to this new service, Aberdeen has also recently welcomed an open-top bus tour, further enriching the travel options available in the city.
