RSD Supplies & Services si unisce a Grandholm Production Services per una nuova era di innovazione.

In a significant move within the procurement sector, Aberdeen-based RSD Supplies & Services has been acquired by Glasgow’s Grandholm Production Services in a six-figure deal. Founded in 1999 by Bob Cowie and Abbey McDonald, RSD has established itself as a key player in the supply of consumables for the on and offshore energy industry, boasting a turnover of £8 million and a dedicated team of 10 employees.

Strategic decision for future growth

Following the passing of her father Bob in 2023, Sarah Colville, who took over the company, expressed that the timing was right for the sale to ensure the business’s future. “This acquisition represents a natural progression for RSD,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the company’s legacy while positioning it for growth.

The transition will see RSD rebranded as RSD Vantage, with an expanded portfolio that includes bespoke safety tags, catering to the evolving needs of their clients.

Enhanced service offerings and international reach

The acquisition is set to provide RSD’s customers with enhanced access to Grandholm’s international operations, which span countries such as Brazil, Turkey, Italy, Germany, and Hungary. This strategic move not only broadens RSD’s market reach but also enriches its service offerings, allowing it to meet the increasing demands of clients in various sectors. Chris McGeehan Jnr, a contracts and procurement specialist, will lead the newly formed company, bringing valuable experience from the oil and gas and geotechnical drilling industries.

Meeting client demands through collaboration

Chris highlighted the growing demand for a wider range of products from procurement departments, stating, “While we could do that, we wanted to keep a clear pathway for our growing safety tags brand.” The acquisition of RSD aligns with Grandholm’s strategy to collaborate with internal departments and specialist procurement houses, ensuring that clients receive everything from essential maintenance supplies to critical mechanical components. This collaborative approach is expected to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

As RSD transitions into its new identity under Grandholm, the focus remains on delivering quality products and services while expanding its footprint in the global market. The acquisition marks a pivotal moment for both companies, setting the stage for future growth and innovation in the procurement landscape.
