You will need:
A headband
A washcloth A radio
Your favourite facial cleanser
One Tablespoon baking soda One teaspoon Lemon Juice, cucumber juice, or cider vinegar One Cotton Ball 2 tablespoons of honey A soft towel
1/8 teaspoon or less of coconut oil Cleanse and Exfoliate
Use your headband to keep your bangs and any stray hairs off of your face.
Run the washcloth under warm water and use it to wet your face thoroughly. Lather your facial cleanser onto your skin, and apply the baking soda to the parts of your face which have the most blackheads. Using a circular motion, gently massage the baking soda into the affected areas.
If it starts to sting, you are scrubbing too hard. Rinse gently with warm water.
Steam
Continue to run the water and turn up the heat until it is quite warm, but not scalding. Wet your washcloth and press it flat against your skin, holding it to your face for two to three minutes. This is the part where you’ll want your radio- otherwise you may become bored and impatient waiting for your pores to open!
Tone
Soak a cotton ball in lemon juice and gently apply to t-zones to reduce redness and clean pores. Alternately, you can use cucumber juice to tighten and freshen your skin. Equal parts cider vinegar and water will remove any traces of makeup or soap left behind.
Masque
Apply the honey to your face and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Honey attracts moisture to your skin and helps to keep it there. It also has antiseptic properties, which will help fight acne. An alternaive, if you have no honey, is plain yogurt, which fights acne and reduces discoloration. Rinse it off carefully with warm water. Pat your face dry gently with a soft towel.
Moisturize
Apply a very small amount of coconut oil to your hands and rub them together, then gently massage oil into your face. Your skin will thank you!
