Overview
Obtaining a high school diploma through distance learning is possible, especially for people who have jobs or who need to stay at home most of the time.
The Distance Education and Training Council is a nationally recognised accrediting agency under the U.S.
Department of Education which grants full accreditation to the online high school program offered by the James Madison High School (JMHS) under Ashworth Colleges.
Regional accreditation is also provided by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
Programs
The programs being offered include diploma programs and single programs.
Diploma programs
Diploma programs include college preparatory courses which provide 9th – 12th grade online diploma curriculum; consisting of challenging, interactive courses such as Mathematics, English, Social studies, Science, Business and Health.
Electives
The self-paced program also enables one to earn an online high school diploma that includes electives in career fields like Computer Programming, Network Security, Graphic Design, and more. Other vocational career electives include Pharmacy Tech, Medical Billing, Physical Therapy, Auto Mechanics, Carpentry, Plumbing, and more.
Single courses
For students who want to take advanced or extra credits on certain subjects, or for those who missed or failed single subjects, one can opt to take single high school courses such as Accounting 1, Algebra 1, Basics of Biology, Chemistry 1, Economics, English, Health Science and more.
