Rome Opera House opens the season at the Terme di Caracalla

For the months of July and August all productions of the Opera di Roma , the most prestigious theatre of the eternal city, will move to the Terme di Caraccalla or Baths of Caracalla, the amazing archaeological site which has been the theatre‘s summer stage for more than seventy years; an old tradition which has been confirmed for this summer too.

The Orchestra, the choir and the corps of ballet will work hard in more than 22 operas which include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (music by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy), Puccini’s Tosca and Bizet’s Carmen.

The cast and production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream includes: the etoile Carla Fracci, the Canadian choreographer Paul Chalmer and the English conductor Jonathan Webb.
