Forward Racing is the first CRT team to announce that they will be back in MotoGP next season and that they will continue with Colin Edwards for another year and have also reconfirmed Alex de Angelis in Moto2.
The veteran MotoGP rider was the first to spearhead the new CRT campaign last season that Dorna desperatly needed to pulp up the grid, but as the races have gone by the Texan had become increasingly frustrated the electronic problems on BMW-Suter machine that he wanted to switch, but after testing other CRTs in the recent Brno test (ART, FTR-Kawasaki and FTR-Honda), has decided to continue with his current machine for the rest of the season, which was officially confirmed during today’s press conference at Misano.
Forward’s CEO Giovanni Cuzzari also added that they do not know if they will continue with same equipment next year but do they have plans to expand their line-up to a two rider effort if they get the green light from Dorna and IRTA.
Cuzzari also re-confirmed Alex de Angelis in Moto2 after the Sammarinese improved his performance when the team switched from a Suter to a FTR chassis at Assen.
De Angelis is currently 13th in the standings and his best result so far has been a 3rd place at Sachsenring.
