The annual international race down the Tiber river will take place from April 24th to May 2nd.
Generally, the race is completed by rafting, but many people like to watch and participate by cycling down the banks of the river, going on horseback or walking.
The Tiber race lasts a week, with people completing 20-30 km at a time, from San Sepolcro in Tuscany down to Ostia Antica at the mouth of the river.

The race is both a sporting event and one that promotes tourism along the river from Tuscany down through Lazio.
You can camp along the river banks, stay in hotels or in caravans, and in the evenings participants generally eat together.
With plenty of international participants, it’s an exciting event with enough camaraderie and a taste of regional Italian cuisine, to last you until next year.
Registration for the race costs 150 euros and there are guidelines as to the difficulty of the white water rafting involved.
