Thanks to its its brutal power and the many successes achieved in the World Rally Championship, the Lancia Delta Integrale is a sort of a myth of the 80s and 90s.
Those who are into cars and over 40 know that only too well.
Among the many admirers of this car there is also MotoGP legend Loris Capirossi, who has one of these beauties in its garage and is definitely not afraid to use it.
Capirossi is now a Safety Advisor for the MotoGP World Championship, and for that reason he’s now at the Mugello track attending the 5th round of the 2013 season, but many enthusiasts surely remembers him and his long and successful career: it all begun in 1990 in the 125 cc class, where he won two consecutive world titles with Honda, then in 1992 he moved up in the 250 cc class, where he became champion in 1993.
Then there is his long history in the premier class, the 500 cc first and the MotoGP then, where he raced from 2000 to 2011 with most manufactuerers (Honda, Ducati, Suzuki).
In case you are struggling to remember all that, we enclose a nice photo gallery showing the mighty Capirex in action.
He was good on two wheels, and the above video proves he’s not that bad on four either.
