According to the ever informed Speedweek.
de, Repsol Honda is not leaving anything to chance this upcoming season and has decided to organize a private test for Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez at the Circuit of the Americas that will host the third race of the 2013 MotoGP season on April 21st.
Both Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies have been to the spectacular Austin track only to take in the Formula 1 race and were enthusiastic about the new venue that will be part of MotoGP’s calendar for next ten years.
It seems that Honda wanted to have the private test between the two Sepang tests that will take place next month despite the prohibitive cost of flying from Sepang to Texas and back to Sepang again, but the track was already booked so they apparently settled for a three-day test session from March 12th to the 14th and will be sharing the track with CRT wildcard entry GPTech.
The German website is also reporting that is it unknown whether Stefan Bradl will also get a chance to be part of the test as LCR Honda team boss Lucio Checchinello has yet to make a decision on the matter.
The GP Commission lifted testing restrictions back in the end of 2011 and now teams with their contracted riders can privately test with only two restricitions: 240 tires per test season per team, and that testing not be carried out fourteen days prior to the GP event.
