As many of you know Punk rock music developed in England in the mid-seventies and only in 1977 it spread around the world reaching America where John Travolta and his unforgettable Saturday Night Fever were all the rage.
Back then disco music was the thing and people used to go bananas over it; Italy where punk rock arrived belatedly in 1978 had already welcomed disco music and this new compilation called Disco Italia –Essential Italo Disco Classics 1977–1985 charts the influence of Italian music on American dance floors; a nice mix of tropical rhythms, electronic sounds and falsettos that after thirty years still retain their appeal!
