Hector Barbera will try to race at Indianapolis

After releasing a statement that Toni Elias would once again be replacing injured Héctor Barberà, Pramac has made the suprise announcement that Barbera will instead be back at the helm of his Ducati GP12 and try to race in this weekend’s Indianapolis GP.

Apparently the Ducati rider made some huge progress in his rehabilation during this last week and has decided to take part in the first practice session at the Brickyard on Friday to evalute his physcial condition.

Barbera fractured his fibula and tibia in a training accident before the Laguna Seca round and underwent surgery a little more than three weeks ago, but he’ll still have to under a physical on Thursday by the Medical Commission and be declared fit before getting the green light to ride, so Toni Elias will still be on hand to replace him if necessary.
