Maverick Vinales was highly tipped to be this year’s Moto3 championship leader especially as he was leading the category after seven rounds, but after five wins and four DNF’s he’s dropped to third in the championship, but the impressive Spaniard will have another shot at the title in 2013 as he’ll remain in Moto3 for another season after re-signing with the Blusens Avintia team.
The 17-year old Vinales future is already planned out by Blusens (and Repsol) because after a third season in the lower class, he’ll be promoted to Moto2 in 2014.
“I am very happy with the decision that has been made.
It is clearly no easy task and it is always really exciting to change classes.
But I think we have done the right thing.
I am really young I am very likely to reach the objectives set by Moto3 and I think I have enough time to move on to Moto2.
I will carry on working with the team and the people that have seen me improve and I feel at ease with.
Sincerely I think I am lucky”, said Vinales.
