Strange but true in Italy when a driver stopped for a routine check of his car, was found to have crammed 1,700 animals into the boot.
According to reports, Italian police completing the car check uncovered: 216 parakeets, 300 white mice, 150 hamsters, 30 Japanese squirrels, six chameleons, and more than 1,000 terrapins (a type of turtle).
Apparently the “poor animals were suffering” and so will the man transporting them, we hope.
