Puccini Festival: Opera Music and Nature in Versilia

This year in order to celebrate Giacomo Puccini´s 150th birthday anniversary Lucca and Torre del lago, the small town on Massacciuccoli lake where the Maestro lived for years, will organize a series of exquisite events.
The Puccini Festival will begin on the 15th June with the inauguration of the new theatre in the open.

The Season will close on 22nd of December, the day Puccini was born 150 years ago.

On 6th July the Moscow Bolshoj Orchestra will hold an amazing concert, but there are many other events worth seeing during this 15 evening, 54th edition dedicated to Puccini.
The Massaciuccoli lake is a LIPU protected area and marks the northern border of Versilia, which is part of the coast of Tuscany; famous for its beaches and seaside resorts such as Viareggio, Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi.
