The “surprise” winner of the 2010 Sanremo festival is Valerio Scanu, with his song “Per tutte le volte che” or “For everytime that”.
It’s a controversial victory for Scanu, who was originally eliminated from the contest, only to be reinstated and then win, despite protests from the backing orchestra and apparent audience disapproval.
His is the style of classic Italian crooner, which seems to have conquered some of Italy’s female population.
Scanu beat trio Pupo, Emanuele Filiberto and Luca Canonici in second place with “Italia Amore Mio”, and in third place was the talented Marco Mengoni, who we saw win Italy’s X-Factor, with “Credimi Ancora”.
After the jump you can find the videos of Valerio Scanu’s live performance of “Per tutte le volte che” at the festival, and the official video of Marco Mengoni with “Credimi ancora”.
