Italian producer Dino De Laurentiis dies

The Italian producer Dino De Laurentiis has died in Los Angeles at the age of 91.
Born in Torre Nunziata near Naples, De Laurentiis produced such masterpieces as Riso Amaro (Bitter Rice), La Strada which won an oscar as best Foreign Language Film in 1956 and Le Notti di Cabiria starring an unforgettable Giulietta Masina; these last two movies directed by the late Italian director Federico Fellini brought him international prestige.

The Italian producer had a long and successful career and was a pivotal figure in postwar filmmaking in Italian cinema and in Hollywood.
He worked on films such as King Kong, Blue Velvet and Hannibal.
