We don’t always get to publish positive stories in a land famous for nepotism and mafiosa mentality, but we have some positive news on corporate social responsibility in Italy (yes, it does exist!).
The country’s Coop supermarket chain has first place in Europe for its procurement practices, according to a study by Consumers International.

The win indicates a good level of corporate responsibility, according to reports, and with grocery prices expensive in Italy where we’re living and suffering the crisis, often how responsible we’re being doesn’t get anywhere near the equation of buying your groceries.

As an interesting aside, the Coop supermarket chain is currently using Italian comedian (or comedienne), Luciana Littizetto as its brand ambassador – see her in a Coop ad above.
