One of the loveliest surprises for the coming Christmas season is that from 5 December to 5 January 2010, the historic fortress of Rocca di Riva on Lake Garda will open its doors to all those children who wish to visit Santa Claus’ s Italian home ( the entrance is free); the legend has it that every year during the long cold winter months Santa leaves the Nord for this old fortress where helped by elves, he makes toys and Christmas presents for Italian children.
