Bustrengo is a delicious cake from Romagna and Marche.
Actually it’s most famous recipe is from a small village called Borghi in the hills around Cesena; it seems that every housewife in this old village has her own secret recipe handed down through the generations.
Anyway here’s our own version.
I hope you like it!Ingredients: 100 g yellow flour, 100 g white flour, 100 g breadcrumbs, 200 g sugar or honey, 3 eggs, ½ litre milk, 100 g raisins, 100 g chopped dried figs, grated zest 1 orange, grated zest 1 lemon, ½ kg apples, ½ glass extra virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon saltMethod: 1.
Peel, core and chop the apples.

Mix the flours and breadcrumbs, add eggs, oil and salt and then stir in with the milk.

Add the chopped apples, chopped dried figs, raisins, orange zest and lemon zest.

Place the mixture in an oiled baking dish and bake at 160/170° C for about an hour
