Pupi Avati will start filming his new work, Il cuore grande delle ragazze (Girls’ big hearts) in Ferbruary 2011, which is set to be another of those relating the lives of Italian families, couples and love.
Hopefully the new film will go some way to erasing the unpleasantness surrounding Avati’s last film, Una sconfinata giovinezza, which was excluded from the Venice Film Festival at the last minute.
The film will be shot in Fermo, in the Marche region, and in Bologna in some part, and stars the beautiful, young Italian actress Micaela Ramazzotti and singer Cesare Cremonini.
The film is apparently based on the relationship of the Italian director’s grandparents and will be full of the usual family tensions and oppositions that surround a young couple’s plans to get married.
Avati plans for it to be a comedy, but which will still be faithful to what he describes as “my cinema”.
The film could prove to be an important step in the young Ramazzotti’s career, after she appears in La prima cosa bella (the first beautiful thing) and Posti in piedi in Paradiso (standing room in heaven).
