Carnival in Italy: Habsburg Carnival in Madonna di Campiglio

From 15 to 19 February visitors in Madonna di Campiglio – one of the most loved and famous towns in the Trentino region – will have the unique opportunity to be part of the Habsburg Carnival; an event which involves historical pageants and re-enactments of life in Habsburg times, with a special focus on the glittering social life led by the Austrian nobility.

So be prepared to be sucked into a world of glamour; from sumptuous royal dinners to fabulous parties; from torchlight parades though enchanting woods to hours of fun in the snow! But the chief attraction of the programme remains the much awaited Gran Ballo dell’Imperatore or the Grand Habsburg Ball which will take place at the Hotel Des Alpes (Hofer salon).

The Habsburg Carnival will start on February 15 (6:00 pm) with the re-enactment of the arrival of Emperor Franz Joseph and his legendary wife Sissi in town, so if you love history and winter sports, you can’t afford to miss it!
