The Sesto Dolomites in Alta Pusteria, were added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2009; with their 77 km of ski slopes and cross-country ski tracks (Monte Elmo, Croda Rossa, Monte Croce, Ski Area Val Comelico and Baranci which hosted the ski cross world cup last year), the Dolomites are a skier’s paradise.
So if you are looking for a mountain resort with snow until spring this is the place to be.
Dotted with “ hutten” or snow huts such as the famous Pollaio and Igloo Polar Light (here people take part in dances and games), the Sesto Dolomites offers a breathtaking landscape and a wide range of outdoor activities including mountain trekking; by the way, if you have children under the age of 8 you will get a series of discounts and free ski passes (offer valid until April 2011)
