I’m pretty sure that many of you are familiar with the name of Dante, the great Italian poet, who in 1302 was forced to leave Florence and go into exile.

Unfortunately it seems that it won’t be a smooth ride at all since some members of the council are now against Dante’s return and one of the poet’s descendants angry at this rather foolish controversy has refused to accept the Fiorino d’oro, the city’s greatest honour , on Dante’s behalf.
