Finalists for Miss Italy 2008: photo gallery

Preselections for Miss Italia 2008 have finished and 100 finalists have been chosen by the jury, who will pass to the final round of competition for the sceptre.
There will have been tears at Salomaggiore as 120 girls will return home, and 104 remain.
Four reserves are required if any girl should leave the competition.

Patrizia Mirigliani said: “If it were possible we would take all of them to the final, but naturally we can’t and the hard work of the Commission offers the biggest guarantee on the choices made.

”In terms of regional representation, Lombardy has ten girls in the running.
Lazio, Tuscany, Campania, Puglia and Sicily have eight each.
In the rear is the Val d’Aosta and Basilicata who each have one “Miss” only.
