Italy's best beaches for 2009

Tourists who are planning to visit Italy net summer will be happy to know that the number of Italian beaches deserving a blue flag are now 227 which is 21 more than 2008.
As you know blue flags are granted by The foundation for Environmental Education to those beaches that are environmentally sound.

The list also includes two Italian lakes, one of which is in the Abruzzo region that was hit by a powerful earthquake only a few weeks ago.
