Not many people know it (and I was one), but American football is played in Italy.
It probably forms part of the Italian’s age-old love affair for the US, and the experience of an American who goes to play football in Italy was captured in John Grisham’s book “Playing For Pizza“.

This time it’s Jason Johnson who’ll be coming to soccer-mad Italy to take up a place in the Catania Elephants team.
