For some of us who may have remained a little behind the times, Italy has gone past its musical roots of “Volare” and it is no longer a hit single around these parts.
Showing how independent rock music can be done in Italy is Negroamaro with their new single “Via le mani dagli occhi” (Uncover your eyes).
Famous for its rock single “Parlami d’amore” (Speak to me of love), from tomorrow the band of six from Puglia will be plugging their new single across the nation, from the album “La Finestra (The Window).
You can enjoy a slice of lead singer Giuliano Sangiorgi and the new single here.
The band has also revealed the names of guest slots for their Milan concert at San Siro stadium on May 31.
And the groups are certainly reflective of Negramaro’s style: Scottish alternative rock group The Fratellis, and anglo-swedesh indy pop outfit The Hoosiers will be taking the stage.
Both bands could be the next big thing but will have to take back stage on the night for the ever-emerging fame of Negramaro.
Through their own blog the group has also announced a television appearance on Scalo 76 on Saturday March 29.
Interested fans can be studio guests but only while seats last so get in quick.
