As Dubai feels the heat of hte economic downturn, the Armani Hotel there is offering lower prices on its rooms by up to 40 percent.
Imagine that – a 40 percent discount on an Armani Hotel room.
The hotel opened only seven months ago and as the economic crisis makes its presence felt even in a temple of luxury like Dubai, a seven star hotel has stepped down ever so slightly from its pedestal.
The Arabian Business publication reports that a room costing about 780 euros a night in April is down to 470 euros.
A two-bedroom suite at that time costing about 7,820 euros is now down to about 4,700 euros.
The first signs of an economic recovery are starting to appear though, as the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai reports that bookings at the Armani Hotel have risen by six percent.
Tourist visits in general to Dubai rose nine percent in the first half of this year.
Are Italians going elsewhere to experience their own Italian luxury? We still won’t be booking a room anytime soon, but if you do, please write and tell us what it was like!
