Italy’s talent show ‘Amici’ concluded this week, with some tough competition from the final four candidates who competed for the victory.
With most of the competitors already gaining record contracts and entre to other projects, victory on the ‘Amici’ show was the icing on the cake.
Above is a video of Italian singer Emma Marrone who won the contest, in front of Loredana, another rock singer with her own individual style.

Other finalists included tenor Matteo, who brought the critics virtually to their feet with his rendition of Nessun Dorma, and Pierdavide – a quirky Italian singer-songwriter who loves performing his own work.
You can forget X-Factor – these performers have done the hard yards and gone through the Amici school under some tough criticism and competition, being mentored along the way.
I’ll be frank and say that I really think Loredana should have won.

Her voice, presence and style just totally blew me away and hopefully she’s not non-commercial enough for us not to see her on the scene in the future.
I doubt you’d find her happily taking her place on television at the Sanremo festival because she is what you’d called an artist.

Below are videos of the other finalists and a couple of their performances from the Amici finale this week.
