If you’re interested in a walking tour of Tuscany this weekend, a tour following the places of the life of Leonardo da Vinci takes place on Sunday, September 28.
Called “La Via di Caterina” it’s a tour from Vinci to San Pantaleo that re-visits the life of Leonardo through four theatre reconstructions of the famous artist’s life.
It is also a culinary tour leaving at 10:30 from the house of Da Vinci in Piazza Guazzesi near the Case dei Da Vinci (or Da Vinci house).
The tour passes through various houses and places, and the hills and vineyards of the area before reaching the medieval town of San Pantaleo.
Four Slow Food tasting stops have been organised along the way, to enjoy the local produce of the area, with a final lunch organised (on payment).
The return trip gives visitors the opportunity to explore the Giardino Ideale and the Labirinto dei Vinci.
The Via di Caterina will give participants a map to fill of their visits throughout the tour, with a certificate of appreciation at the end.
Fees to participate are 20 euros per person including a buffet of aperitif with Montalbano wine, bread and extravirgin olive oil, boiled vegetables, sausages and roast from Montalbano, and as a dessert biscuits with Vin Santo sweet wine.
