The Galleria Penanti in Florence is a fine arts auction house which will put on the block more than 200 works of art, including precious porcelain pieces, furniture and paintings from the Italian Renaissance; the auction will take place at the Palazzo Ridolfi in Florence from 27 March to 23 April 2009.
One of the most coveted pieces on sale is the painting The Vocation of SS Peter and Paul which depicts the same scene that Masaccio painted in the famous Cappella Brancacci in 1424; unfortunately the fresco was destroyed in the 18th century; the work is expected to raise around 200,000 euros.
The Galleria Penanti will also put on sale a series of beautiful painting by artists from the Roman School (18th century)
