If you hadn’t already guessed it, gossip from Italy and much of the Italian public in general is obsessed with the George Clooney-Elisabetta Canalis relationship and many Italians have been holding their breath over whether the couple will get married or not.
If that day ever actually arrives, you can rest assured it will be the biggest event in Italy this side of the year 2000.

Other Italian celebrities may be feeling a little neglected as Elisabetta Canalis takes the limelight off the back of her famous husband.

This time round, the favourite title for the gossip pages is ‘Canalis is getting married’ but it’s not for real.
The Italian showgirl is to appear in the film A natale mi sposo (At Christmas I’ll get married), directed by Paolo Costella and starring veteran Massimo Boldi.
The film is another example of the trashy ‘cinepanettone‘ version of Italian cinema we’ll be seeing come Christmas, but by that stage we’ll probably be ready for some light-hearted escapism.

In the meantime, it looks like the only real moment when Elisabetta Canalis will be donning a wedding dress anytime soon.
