With 30-degree days here, we’re right into summer in Italy, and for a seasonal cocktail, we look at the “Mela del Peccato” or “Apple of Sin”.
It’s a new liquor made from apple juice and pureé, from the Distillerie Bonollo Umberto.
This is cocktail which is made with some prosecco, Italy’s sparkling white wine.
The new liquer can also be drunk straight, but a little touch of something else never hurts.
Ingredients include 25 percent of Mela del Peccato Bonollo, 75 percent DOC prosecco and some ice cubes.
It should be served at around 8-10°C.
A bottle of Mela del Peccato costs 15.
90 euros and you can buy it online at the Bonollo shop, where you can also find the full range of liquors if you’re interested in inventing something yourself, or check out our Italian cocktail recipes.
