John Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston has died of breast cancer at 57 years old. Preston and Travolta, 66, had been married for 29 years and they have three children , Ella, 20 and Benjamin, nine; son, Jett, died in 2009 aged 16.
The actor confirmed the death in an Instagram post overnight Sunday. “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer.
She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many”, he wrote.
Jerry Maguire star Preston was born in Honolulu, Hawaii then moved to study at the University of Southern California.
They met at recording the scenes of the film “The Experts” in 1987. At that time, Preston was married to actor Kevin Gage but divorced after 2 years. The couple got engaged in 1991 Gstaad, Switzerland. Then, Kelly Preston and John Travolta were married at a midnight ceremony in Paris, while expecting the first son Jett. After appearing in many films together, they starred in the 2018 film Gotti for the last time.
Her Daughter Ella wrote: “I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you. Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy. Thank you for being there for me no matter what, Thank you for your love, Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place. You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama.”
Maria Shriver felt “shocked by this sad news” and paid a heartfelt tribute last night. “Kelly was such a bright loving soul, a talented actress, and a loving mom and wife. My heart breaks for her family who have already known such sadness and grief. Join me in sending them love and strength”, she said.
Thus, Actress Chloe Bennett declared: “Kelly Preston was enormously kind and unbelievably lovely. Can’t believe this. My thoughts are with her sweet Ella and the rest of her incredible family. RIP.”
