The famous couple is “floating with love and wonder” as they announced the birth of their first child. Perry and Bloom got engaged in February 2019 after a long on-and-off romance.
The two are both Goodwill Ambassadors for the United Nations Children’s Fund and the big announcement came in fact from the UNICEF official Twitter. Both Perry and Bloom are very dedicated to helping mothers and children in difficulty and their work with UNICEF did not stop during the pandemic.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter”, they said in the statement posted by UNICEF and announced to have established a donation page to help struggling parents “now more than ever”. The UNICEF donation page will be on “DDB”, baby Daisy’s behalf. The happy couple continued: “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was.
Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since Covid-19, many more newborn lives are at risk because of a greater lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathise with struggling parents now more than ever.”
“By supporting UNIFEC, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your (heart) can bloom with generosity”, they added.
