The couple confirmed the news and Mr Jopling reported the baby and his mother are “happy and healthy”. He said on Instagram: “I don’t ever address the public attention that comes with Ellie’s job, but during this magical and personal moment we would really appreciate being able to enjoy our privacy – Thank you x.”
Ms Goulding announced her pregnancy during an interview with British Vogue in February.
The pregnancy was a complete surprise, she told. The singer found out she was expecting on their first wedding anniversary.
She told Vogue: “That was not the plan. The thought of getting pregnant didn’t seem like it could be a reality. Becoming pregnant kind of made me feel human. I want a better word than womanly, (but) I have curves I’ve never had before. I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it.”
Ms Goulding and Mr Jopling met in 2016 during a party organized by their mutual friend Princess Eugenie. Three years later, on 31 August 2019, the couple got married at York Minster.
The bride wore an amazing dress designed by Natacha Ramsay-Levi for Chloé. The bespoke long-sleeve gown featured a ruffled lace collar and silk tulle veil. Jopling, instead, chose a suit from Savile Row tailors Huntsman.
