Owner Dougie Mackenzie, who opened the chip shop on Millburn Road on June 1, 2022, has realized his lifelong dream. At just 35 years old, Dougie’s journey began at the tender age of 12 when he took his first job at a local chip shop.
His passion for the industry grew as he managed a shop in Conan Bridge for nearly a decade, always harboring the ambition to establish his own business.
“When I finally got to have my own, I promised Inverness I would do my best to have the best chippy in the city,” Dougie stated, reflecting on his commitment to quality and service. His hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as he expressed his delight at being recognized as the best in Scotland.

Dougie attributes much of his success to the unwavering support of his fiancée, Erin Robson, and his large family. With three children—Olly, 13, Laila, 11, and Kelsie, 8—Dougie is not only building a business but also a legacy. He is actively teaching his eldest son the ins and outs of the chip shop, preparing him for a potential future in the family business.
