Irrfan Khan, an internationally renowned Bollywood star who has conquered Hollywood, has died at the age of 53 from neuroendocrine cancer, a rare disease that affects the glands that release hormones into the blood. He had been hospitalized for a few days at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai and it is here that he gave the last greeting to his loved ones. Irrfan had discovered he had cancer in 2018 and, through social media, had recounted his ordeal. In 2019 he had been admitted for a course of treatment in a hospital in London, but to date it seems that no cure has allowed him to stay alive. Irrfan Khan was born in Jaipur on 7 January 1967. After graduating from the National School of Drama in New Delhi, he first appeared in the cinema in 1988 in Salaam Bombay!. From this point on he starred in dozens of films shot in Bollywood. In 2003, he landed the lead role in Maqbool, a Hindi version of Macbeth, set in the infamous neighborhoods of Bombay.
