Callum Wheeler is suspected of having killed Julia James
The trial date of Julia James’ killer has been set. The alleged killer of PCSO Julia James will appear before Maidstone Crown Court on June 8 and face trial on November 29.
Ms James disappeared on April 27. She left her home to walk her dog Toby in Snowdown, Kent, and never came back. Kent police found her remains in the woods few hours later. Further analysis revealed she died because of severe head injuries.
The 21-year-old suspect Callum Wheeler was officially charged with the crime on Monday and appeared before the court for the first time on Tuesday. He has been remanded in custody pending the trial. While the police was leading him aways, he was seen poking his tongue out.
Ms James’ family released a statement on Friday: “There are no words to adequately describe the void left in our lives by the death of our mum.
She was so much to so many people: a wife, mother, daughter, nanny, sister and aa friend.
“Mum was fiercely loyal, she loved with her whole heart and nothing was too much trouble for the people she cared about.”
They added: “Her loss will be felt by us every moment of every day. She will be sorely missed. As a family we are trying to understand how we will navigate our lives without her, it seems an impossible task”
Ms James was well known and loved by the locals for her commitment to helping the community. She had served the Kent Police for 13 years. She was also engaged in the fight against domestic violence and abuse with a local charity, Rising Sun.
