The worst year of teenage killings is in London

Commander Alex Murray, the Met’s lead for violence, warned that more teenager killings, lives being lost as Covid restrictions ease. He issued an urgent call for calming the young people. He also released that there was 17 killed this year and teenager murderer gain.

Commander Murray mentioned that if London remains to raise the pace of violence, it will be the worst year for young homicide since 2008.

It is because about 28 teens were killed in 2008.

Fifteen teenagers were killed with a knife

He published that from 17 victims, more than two thirds or about 12 victims are black. Fifteen were killed with a knife and one shot. There was a boy who died in a house fire that started intentionally with his family.

The newest died of teenager was Jalan Woods-Bell. A 15-years-old boy was killed after hurt to death during the school run in Hayes.

Meanwhile, sixteen hours earlier, a 17-years-old boy died after being chased in Streatham. He was caught and knifed in the chest.

On June 8, a 19-years-old bout was killed after being shot in the head. He was in a targeted hit near a nursery and primary school in Crouch Hill.

Lockdown makes teenagers killed?

Commander Murray said, “Through lockdown, there has been an unbelievable amount of work to take the wind out of the sails of people who drive destruction.”

“More than 400 guns have been obtained, thousands of knives and huge amounts of drugs have been taken. A report £47 million in cash has been stolen and offenders have been caught off the streets,” added him.
