Indeed, this dance-pop song embodies the female empowerment and the philosophy of the Girl Power and maybe that’s why right now it’s still famous worldwide. Also, the female friendship towards a bad relationship is a value promoted by the song and the group.

Spice Girls

The famous group of Spice Girls was founded on 1994 as an “invented band” to fight all the boy bands present on the music market. However, they become a spread phenomenon and reached many fans and awards. Indeed, it is the best-selling album by a female group in history .

They were 5 women with given nicknames: Posh Spice, Sporty Spice, Scary Spice, Ginger Spice, Baby Spice. They break up in 1998 and reunited back in 2019 but without Victoria Beckham to make some reunion shows.

Wannabe25: contents and songs

The single Wannabe will be present in the new EP, but in three different versions: the original single, a remix made by Junior Vasquez and the original demo. Maybe is it because of being the seventh best-selling debut single of all time and thanks to the 1.3 million CD singles and download sales?

The remix was originally a bonus track on the 1996 “2 Become 1” CD Single.

Furthermore, there will be an unreleased ballad that the group wanted to share, called “Feed Your Love” written by Spice Girls and “Wannabe” co-writers Richard “Biff” Stannard and Matt Rowe.

Wannabe25: Limited edition and launch

Fans can also buy also a physical version, a vinyl limited-edition but two weeks later, on July 23rd. It will be possible to pre-order them, too, with the swipe up in the IG stories.

The social media campaign helped the group spread the release of the new EP. Indeed, fans were asked to share their memories as part of the celebration. They are invited to post their old photos and videos of the group and the song.

They can do it through the social media accounts of the Spice Girls with the hashtag #IAmASpiceGirl or sent them to spicegirls@umusic.com.

The campaign is very successful and many celebrities contributed to it: Blake Lively, Adele, Sam Smith promoted their stories and their love for the group. Within their support, the campaign will be a global celebration of people power.

Spice Girls Support the LGBTQ+ community

The 5 members, including Victoria Beckham, posted a photo with the new merchandising of Spice Girls. This is for the celebration of the Pride Month. The T-shirt and the purse say: “Proud and Wannabe your Lover”. It is a clear link to the single Wannabe and the celebration empowerment and freedom. The popular Spice Girl wrote in the post that “Pride to me is a celebration of being completely yourself and this year’s T-shirt is a reminder of that”.

All the profits will be funding the charity Albert Kennedy Trust, that does an incredible work to support youth homelessness in United Kingdom due to sexual discrimination.
