The latest daily government figures recorded 263 Covid deaths and 40.954 new infections. However, the number which was released on Monday did not combine Wales. With those numbers, it means the death rate relating to Covid in each week in England and Wales has increased lightly.
Based on the Office for National Statistics, until October 15, about 713 deaths documented in the week declared Covid-19 on the death certificate.
It appears as Downing Street held its Plan B measures following leaked documents. Documents hinted ordering them for five months could require the economy up to £18 billion.
The Prime Minister’s official spokesman announced Plan B would only be acquired when “pressure on the NHS is unsustainable”. Or he told it as is not the problem currently.
“We are confident the Plan B measures taken as a combination will help control Covid cases.
Whilst, discovering that critical balance of admitting parts of the economy to continue to open that will otherwise face strict restrictions or even closure.”
In a lobby briefing on Tuesday, Downing Street also said it is “too quick” to form results from figures implying a levelling off of Covid cases.
