Every year, the city of Aberdeen transforms into a vibrant hub of excitement as thousands gather to witness the stunning fireworks display on November 5. This year, however, the event has been relocated to the North Pier near Footdee due to ongoing construction works at the beachfront. Despite the change in venue, the anticipation remains high for what promises to be a memorable night.
The fireworks will commence at 7:30 PM, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spots. The esplanade will serve as the primary viewing area, offering a range of catering options from food trucks that will be open for business throughout the event. Nearby restaurants, including popular chains like Pizza Hut and TGI Fridays, as well as local favorites such as Muzo’s and Cartoos Grill, will also be available for those looking to grab a bite before the show.
Given the new location, the council has emphasized that public viewing will be restricted to the esplanade, with no access allowed from Footdee. To facilitate attendance, a park and ride service will operate from several locations, including Bridge of Don, Kingswells, and The Aberdeen Altens Hotel. Buses will run frequently, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the festivities without the hassle of parking. The drop-off and pick-up point will be conveniently located at Wellington Street.
As with any large public event, safety is a top priority. The council has announced several road closures in the area to ensure a smooth experience for attendees. The esplanade will be closed from the south junction of Link’s Road to York Street Road starting at 11 PM on November 4 until 12 PM on November 6. Additionally, the Beach Boulevard will also be closed due to ongoing construction work. Attendees are advised to plan their routes accordingly and consider using public transportation to avoid delays.
